No Philosophy Preached At Unity In Silver Spring
After our "Love Feast," someone asked me, "Have you ever experienced that type of love?" "That type" being the Love mentioned in the sermon.
After hesitating, I replied to the questioner, "I have experienced BEING this type of Love."
I thought people in our church family knew that I don't preach anything I have not personally experienced ...to some degree. Philosophy doesn't cut it when the heart, body and/or pocketbook is hurting. I will leave philosophy to the philosophers. At Unity, I preach what works.

Your Role In Your Child's Spiritual Development
Yes, the sermon is ready for your listening pleasure, but let me get my rant in. I was tempted to title this "How To Raise An Educated Fool," because of the emphasis parents put on academic education over spiritual education. What you end up with are children with academic degress, but no degree of happiness, fulfillment, or direction in life.
I cant remember what I said in the sermon, but when I hear parents say, I don't want to force spiritual education on my children," my eyes cross. Why? Because they force academic education on their children. There can be a balance of emphasis. And if you want parenthood to be less traumatic and dramatic, there has to be a balance. RANT OVER.
