Donna's Giving To Unity In Silver Spring (Sunday)

Donna won't stop giving until Christmas Day.  Each day she's yielding to her natural impulse to give. On Sunday, December 23, Donna Britt is our guest speaker. It's a gift, and we gratefully accept it.

Matter-a-fact we are so excited about it that we are asking everyone to please bring your poinsettias back to decorate the sanctuary. Another kind gesture that we're grateful for.

More word on the Christmas Fellowship Table in a day or two. Here's a head's up. One person has already committed to salmon, and macaroni and cheese. And every time I close my eyes thinking about Sunday's Fellowship Table, I see visions of a black lacquered turkey breast, a scallion-laced crab quiche, beef burgundy, green bean casserole, broccoli polonaise, and a homemade apple pie with a flaky vodka crust (hint, hint Lisa).

More than that I just see us having fun celebrating Christ.

The Power of Jesus' Name (Sermon Available)

In this sermon, I quote a lot of passages from the Holy Bible about Jesus' name.  One verse states that "There is no other name under heaven whereby men may be saved."  One person said to me: "I didn't know we believe in being saved in Unity."

The spirtual significance of "being saved" is being saved from the delusion of a mortal, human existence and all that seems to go along with it.

I'm talking about Donna Britt, author of "Brothers & Me."

Before you click on the link to read about Donna's give-fest, did you know that she and Kevin were listed in the Huffington Post blog as one of the most powerful black couples in the country?

Donna's in a great giving mood.  Read all about it.

The Twelve Powers Of Man

For  a long time,  I have mentioned that Charles Fillmore was not the first to attribute spiritual powers to the disciples of Christ Jesus.  Rather, he piggy-backed on his teacher's (Emma Curtis Hopkins) writing about the twelve powers of man.

Finally, this Bible study excerpt is available online.

Before I provide the link to Hopkins original treatise, let me prepare you.  She's deep.  Fillmore's treament of the same subject is much longer, and much lighter in depth.

Zap Stress Out Of Your Life -- Forever

When you listen to this stress-zapping sermon, in two places it sounds like I said stress-filled when I meant and thought I said stress-free.  You'll know.

Listen and enjoy.

Prosperity Is Your Home

Prosperity Is God's Will For Your Home

Do you want your home to be an abode of abundance? If yes, face this fact: It is God’s will for your home to be a prosperous home. It has to be this way for God’s will and God’s nature are one. Innately, you know that God’s nature is boundless infinity. Infinity can only express itself as abundance.

God being all is God being your home. God being your home is Infinite Substance being your home. When you put these ideas together, it is easy to see that prosperity in your home is simply God’s abundant nature showing forth in your home, as your home.

Reader, pause now and say from the heart, "It is God’s will for my home to be a prosperous home." Did you do this? Let’s move on.

A Glory Hallelujah Moment

God is all, and besides God there is nothing to hinder or oppose God. This should be a "Glory Hallelujah!" moment. Think about it: there is nothing to oppose your home being a prosperous home -- even now. Refuse to judge by appearances and spring to this awareness: My home is already a prosperous home.

Daily Contemplation

Contemplate the ideas in this post. Take them into your silent prayer and ask for further light on these truths. Finally, send me a line or two and tell me how you are seeing God’s abundance evidenced as your prosperous home.

The End Of A Double Life

Tawana often mentions my other blog, "Absolutely Yours."  Although it is more consistent with the advanced message of my two books, I always kept it as my "international secret."  The blog is enjoyed by readers in many countries around the world.

So that you will know what Tawana is talking about when she refers to my blog, here it  is for your reading pleasure.

Prosperity (Sermon Synopsis)

Below are bullet points from Sunday's Prosperity sermon.

  • Stop butchering God into chunks of Itself.  God is indivisibly one presence and one power.  Where Health is, Wealth is; where Love is, Wealth Is.  To say that you are interested in Health, but not Wealth is to say you are not interested in God.  God cannot be divided.

  • This One presence and power that is both infinite and indivisible knows nothing about amounts.  God knows no difference between $3.00 and $3,000,000.00.     This is another splice and dice job of the no-mind.  God only knows Infinite, and Indivisible Substance NOW manifested as wealth.

  • Keeping the above in mind, can you see that it should be just as easy to evidence  one million dollars as it is one single penny?  Who makes the distinction?

  • Never say, "I would like to make a six-figure salary."  Why impose this limitation on yourself?  Be satisfied with nothing less than Infinity.  Nothing else is real.

  • The spiritual approach to prosperity is basing the reality of your finances on the reality of God as the source and substance of your finances.  Only what is true of God is true of your finances.

  • The reason why so many people are not able to sustain prosperity after taking a class is because their motive is simply to make a demonstration.  Once the demonstration is made, they forget about the Source of the so-called demonstration.  Understanding the principle of supply is its own demonstration.  Your sole concern should be with understanding the principle of supply.  The demonstration takes care of itself.

How To Know All Truth (brief summary)

A woman in the congregation did record the sermon, and I am waiting to hear from her about posting it on the website.  Until then, I am going to briefly explore the most important point of the sermon.

Don't Misuse and Abuse Silent Prayer

The person who goes "into the silence" hoping that they will "come out" with a healed body, a job offer, or any type of improvement is abusing silent prayer.

I stopped counting the times someone has said to me, "I went into the silence faithfully and I still wasn't healed." God is not in the fix and repair business. God is not in the healing business.

Wait! Don't leave. Let me explain. When silent prayer is rightly focused, your motive is to experience revelation. It is (as I said in the sermon) to learn a lesson in Truth from the Spirit of Truth that dwells in (as) you. In right-focused prayer, it is revealed that there is no problem to be solved, no body to be healed, and no broken life to fix. Right-focused prayer reveals that I (God) Am All.

This revelation appears as a healing, but is nothing more that God more fully revealed.

I am never surprised to hear someone say that they faithfully prayed and was not healed. Why? You start wrong, you end wrong. The motive was wrong from the start. What would surprise me is if someone said, "Rev. day in and day out I went into the silence with only one motive and that was to know more about God than I seem to know right now. After weeks of praying and listening I learned nothing."

Strange as it may seem, no one has ever said this to me.

A Great Testimony

Sometimes the icing on the cake is the best part of the cake.  Sunday's service was topped off by a powerful testimony from Dana. Everyone was moved and inspired.

What I especially liked was how Dana stated the problem, and with enough detailed, shared exactly what she did spiritually for the wonderful outcome.

Which Door Is Which

If you have not already attended service at our new location, it's easy to try several wrong doors before you get the right door. Here's help:

  • The doors are numbered.  Door #4 is the door you want.
  • You will see a black Prius parked in front of the door (fire lane)

No Hopeless Situation--Sermon Available

One thing I forgot to mention in my telling the story of Jesus healing the man born blind.  When Christ told the disciples, "Neither this man has sinned nor his parents," He was looking at the divinity (reality) of their identity.

When Paul proclaims that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, he is looking at the illusion of our seeming humanity with all its glaring flaws.

Note: Each sermon now is preceded by the inspirational reading that's a part of our Sunday service.
